Vox Media files US antitrust claims against Google over ad tech

( January 14, 2026, 19:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Vox Media filed a US complaint accusing Google of abusing its monopoly over the markets for publisher ad servers and ad exchanges. “Digital advertising is a $200 billion business — a nine-fold increase since 2009. Yet, Vox Media has not shared equally with Google in this massive digital advertising market despite Vox Media’s relative size, proven value to audiences, and industry prestige. Instead, Google and its parent Alphabet unlawfully acquired and continue to maintain monopolies for the advertising technology tools that publishers and advertisers use to buy and sell online ad space that ultimately support their continued ability to provide their valued content to wide audiences,” it said.
