X Corp.'s Grok under investigation by California AG

( January 13, 2026, 18:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced an investigation into the proliferation of nonconsensual, sexually explicit material produced using X Corp.’s Grok artificial intelligence model. Bonta said X appears to be facilitating the large-scale production of deepfake images that are being used to harass people across the internet, including via its social media platform. “I urge xAI to take immediate action to ensure this goes no further.
