US federal judge transfers Hilton tracking case to Virginia

( January 7, 2026, 20:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US judge in the Northern District of California ordered that a putative class action accusing Hilton of unlawful online tracking be transferred to the Eastern District of Virginia, holding that the plaintiffs are bound by a forum-selection clause in Hilton’s loyalty-program terms. US District Judge Eumi K. Lee ruled that all three named plaintiffs are members of the Hilton Honors program and therefore agreed that “venue for all suits” would lie in Virginia, even though the lawsuit centers on alleged cookie-based tracking on Hilton’s public website after users opted out.See attached order....
