Energizer files antitrust, trade secrets counterclaims in US suit over batteries

( January 6, 2026, 23:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Portable Power's antitrust lawsuit against Energizer has been "manufactured" by the plaintiff company's owner, Richard Petretti, and a former Energizer contractor with whom he conspired to misappropriate confidential and privileged business information, according to counterclaims filed in the Northern District of California. Petretti used "flattery and professions of love" to procure Energizer's confidential and proprietary internal information as part of a scheme that violated trade secrets laws and California's Unfair Competition Law, the company said.See attached document....
