Italian iron foundries, trade association fined €70m over cartel

( December 31, 2025, 09:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Sixteen metal smelters active in Italy, as well as their trade association Assofond, have been fined €70 million for coordinating sudden increases in the list prices for cast-iron castings. The infringement began in 2004 and ran for 20 years, and involved companies including C2MAC Group, Fonderia Corrà, Fonderie Orazio and Fonderie Guido Glisenti. The Italian antitrust watchdog, when deciding the fines, took into account the significant crisis affecting the sector.The press release is attached....
