Idealista deal suggests merger control in EU is just as tough on homegrown tech

Property platform Idealista's bid to buy its rival Kyero collapsed in September, in the face of Spanish and Portuguese antitrust scrutiny. While the Spanish company blamed regulatory over-reach, one of the regulators involved said it hadn't suggested any remedies. If you think it's just the US technology giants that are upset with Europe's hardened stance on competition in the tech sector, think again. A failed acquisition deal in the Iberian peninsula suggests the bloc's own tech success-stories are also feeling heat generated by Europe's stricter approach to tech platforms....
