South Korea releases policy report on data issues in competition

( December 30, 2025, 06:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s competition regulator released a policy report on Tuesday that analyzes competition issues related to the collection and management of data by large businesses and proposes regulatory improvements. The Korea Fair Trade Commission said that the report examines conduct that could potentially violate the competition law, including excluding rivals by refusing access to essential data, restricting competitors’ data collection under the guise of privacy protection, and limiting interoperability to foreclose competition.
