Ticketmaster says summary judgment warranted against US DOJ's 'baseless' suit

( December 30, 2025, 01:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Live Nation and subsidiary Ticketmaster asked a US federal judge to dismiss the "baseless" monopolization lawsuit brought against it by the Department of Justice and 40 states and territories. In a reply supporting its motion for summary judgment, the live-events and ticketing companies told the US District Court for the Southern District of New York that the government doesn't purport to have “direct evidence” of monopoly power with respect to either their ticketing or promotion markets. There is no evidence that anything the defendants did led to higher prices, less output or reduced quality to venues or artists, the filing said. "Plaintiffs do not get the jury trial they seek on these undisputed facts. They have failed to raise triable issues on the most fundamental elements of their claims," the filing said. Summary judgment is warranted, the companies said.See attached document...
