( December 23, 2025, 05:29 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japan’s competition authority on Tuesday warned e-learning portal sites to ensure fair competition among digital learning content providers, amid concerns that an oligopoly among portal operators — dominated by NTT Communications, now known as NTT Docomo Business, and Uchida Yoko — may have led to excessive burdens on content providers. The Japan Fair Trade Commission, or JFTC, also said portal site operators must maintain open access with content providers, and called on municipalities not to allow portal site operators to impose excessive access fees on content providers or to restrict their direct transactions with local governments.
