China seeks WTO consultations with India over ICT tariffs, solar-sector subsidies

A ministry spokesperson said the Indian measures allegedly breach bound tariff commitments and the principle of national treatment, and amount to import substitution subsidies that are explicitly prohibited under WTO rules. The spokesperson added that the measures unfairly advantage Indian domestic industries and harm Chinese companies.
