South Korea's antitrust chief underscores role of business in tackling inequality

( December 18, 2025, 02:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Leaders of South Korea’s large business groups should take the lead in reducing inequalities between large and small businesses as the country faces deepening disparities across sectors, regions and social classes, Chairman of the Korea Fair Trade Commission Ju Biung-ghi said Thursday. Ju told members of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry that concentrated economic power and imbalances in the economy have created a cycle of inequality and stagnation. He urged business leaders to serve as role models in breaking this cycle and to demonstrate forward-looking, innovation-driven leadership.
