BT Luxembourg's bid for Smit Lamnalco businesses approved in Papua New Guinea

( December 16, 2025, 01:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: BT Luxembourg II’s proposal to indirectly acquire Smit Lamnalco Projects and directly acquire Smit Lamnalco Towage PNG through BT’s business Boluda has been approved by Papua New Guinea’s mergers regulator. In a statement on Tuesday, the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission said the transaction would involve a restructuring of ownership in Smit Lamnalco Projects and Smit Lamnalco Towage within the Boluda Group and not have any “serious” consequences on the current structure and condition of the market in which the companies operate. Smit companies were registered in the country, where they provide terminal services, towing, berthing and mooring services.
