Pepsi gave Walmart promotional payments, allowances over rivals, unsealed US FTC suit says

( December 11, 2025, 21:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Pepsi provided Walmart with promotional payments, allowances and services while failing to make similar benefits available to Walmart’s competitors on proportionally equal terms, according to an unsealed complaint filed by the Biden-era US Federal Trade Commission against the soft drink maker. "Pepsi works with Walmart to create a retail “price gap” or “price hedge” between Walmart and its competitors, or in other words, to give Walmart lower average retail prices than its competitors," said the unsealed complaint filed at the Southern District of New York, adding the purpose of the price gap is to provide Walmart with an advantage over its brick-and-mortar competitors in the resale of Pepsi soft drinks to the consumer.See attached document....
