Motion Picture Association says InterDigital should face US claims over patents

( December 10, 2025, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Motion Picture Association filed a brief urging a US federal judge to deny InterDigital’s motion to dismiss Disney’s antitrust claims, saying adherence to reasonable and non-discriminatory term commitments is critical to the ability of streaming providers to offer high-quality content at competitive prices. “The complaint’s allegations vividly describe how that competition is undermined when an SEP owner engages in deceptive conduct during the standard-setting process and, post-standardization, renounces its RAND commitments and makes ‘holdup’ demands to license the patented technologies that are necessary to the standards’ implementation.
