Coeuré warns against granting legal privilege to in-house lawyers

The draft text foresees exceptions for judges and tax administration, but not for regulators such as the competition authority.Granting confidentiality to communications between companies and in-house corporate lawyers would grant them "complete immunity" from regulators, the chair of the French competition authority told French lawmakers on Thursday morning....
