Planned UK rules to ease licensing burdens for wireless, satellite equipment

( December 11, 2025, 16:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: New UK rules would open more wireless devices to license-free use, expanding exemptions for short-range equipment, autonomous maritime devices, coastal-radio training systems and high-density satellite terminals. Ofcom’s draft regulations, published on Thursday and supported by updated interface requirements, aim to reduce regulatory burdens and give effect to earlier policy decisions on license-exempt use.
