At the AEC Council Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, ASEAN said DEFA will serve as a core strategy for accelerating the region’s post-pandemic digital transformation, enabling data flows, cybersecurity cooperation, digital payments and personal data protection. Broad agreement has also been reached on emerging areas including AI, competition policy and talent mobility.
