US partially wins bid to bar IP expert testimony in Google AI trade secret case

( December 10, 2025, 19:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US District Judge Vince Chhabria has partially granted the US government’s motion to exclude testimony from James Pooley, an intellectual property attorney and litigation consultant, in the upcoming trial of Linwei Ding, a former Google engineer accused of stealing AI trade secrets. “Pooley’s testimony at trial will be limited to best practices relating to trade secret protection and the tradeoffs companies have to consider in designing systems to protect their trade secrets.
