In a determination published by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission following its Phase 1 review, the regulator said Molex and Smiths Interconnect did not appear to compete closely in the supply of connectors in Australia. The regulator said that the products supplied by Molex and Smiths in Australia are used for different end-use applications.
