Netflix-WB deal will 'almost certainly' face antitrust challenge, AELP says

( December 5, 2025, 17:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The American Economic Liberties Project says it is irresponsible of Warner Bros. Discovery's board to pursue a transaction with Netflix that will "almost certainly" be challenged. “If David Zaslav [CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery] cannot run the company without resorting to an obviously unlawful merger, the board must replace him rather than reward him with a $500 million payday,” said AELP Research Director Matt Stoller. Stoller said that the deal looks "a lot like the Penguin Random House-Simon & Schuster merger that was blocked by antitrust enforcers."Statement follows in full. ...
