TikTok announces compliance plan for Australia's social media ban for under-16s

( December 5, 2025, 07:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: TikTok users in Australia between the ages of 13 and 15 will not be able to create an account on the platform from Dec. 10, the company said in a statement on Friday. TikTok said that teens with existing accounts will be notified that they can no longer use them and that the accounts will be deactivated. It added that it will remove accounts it believes belong to users under 16, though affected individuals can appeal. The company said users can verify their age through methods including facial age estimation provided by third-party service provider Yoti, credit card authorization or government-issued identification.Statement follows....
