Dutch watchdog’s 2019 block of PostNL takeover of Sandd was correct, court says

( December 2, 2025, 11:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Dutch competition authority was correct to block plans by postal operator PostNL to buy rival Sandd in 2019, a Dutch court has ruled. The decision of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets, or ACM, was overruled by the government which allowed the acquisition to proceed later that year. The ACM will consult with the parties involved to determine the consequences of the Trade and Industry Appeals Tribunal's ruling which can't be appealed, the court said in a statement on Tuesday.
