Nexstar, Tegna request waivers of national, local ownership caps in application to US FCC

( December 1, 2025, 21:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Nexstar Media Group and Tegna requested waivers of the national and local ownership caps from the US Federal Communications Commission as part of their application to transfer control to Nexstar, according to a public notice from the agency. If allowed to acquire Tegna stations, Nexstar would serve 54.5 percent of US households — well over the established 39 percent cap — and would control more than two full-power stations in 23 designated market areas around the country.See attached document....
