Naver to acquire South Korea's leading crypto-exchange operator Dunamu

( November 26, 2025, 08:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korean tech giant Naver has announced plans to acquire Dunamu, the operator of the country’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Upbit. Naver said on Wednesday that its board has approved Naver Financial’s planned acquisition of Dunamu through a share-swap transaction, with each Dunamu share exchanged for 2.54 shares in Naver Financial, bringing Dunamu under Naver Financial’s control. According to Naver’s regulatory filing, the transaction is subject to merger approval from the Korea Fair Trade Commission as well as government approval for a change in Naver Financial’s major shareholders.
