US charges US, Chinese citizens in AI chip scheme

( November 20, 2025, 23:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Justice charged two US citizens and two Chinese nationals in a scheme to illegally ship Nvidia’s advanced semiconductor chips for powering artificial intelligence to China. The US arrested Hon Ning Ho, a US citizen born in Hong Kong and living in Florida; Brian Curtis Raymond, a US citizen from Alabama; Cham Li, a Chinese national from California; and Jing Chen, a Chinese national on a F1 nonimmigrant student visa in Florida. The US accused the four of conspiring to ship the chips to China through Malaysia and Thailand from September 2023 to November 2025 using a front company in Tampa, Florida, and of receiving $3.9 million from China for the scheme.Statement below:...
