Platforms have final say in UK Online Safety Act fees

( November 21, 2025, 12:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Online platforms have a final chance to provide feedback on fees to the UK regulator Ofcom as it opens a consultation on the Online Safety Act’s fees regime. A fourth consultation is open until Jan. 9. The regulator has published its final guidance on “qualifying worldwide revenue,” which establishes a £250 million threshold for companies to be in scope, with an exemption if less than £10 million of relevant revenue originates in the UK. The initial charging year is 2026-27, with the qualifying period being the 2024 calendar year.Statement follows.
