Playtech loses permission to have trade secrets case heard in the UK

By Douglas Clarke-Williams ( November 21, 2025, 12:34 GMT | Insight) -- PlayTech, a developer of online gambling games, has lost permission to have its trade secrets claim against Realtime SIA, a Latvian games developer, heard in the UK after a judge on Friday agreed with an appeal that the fact that the alleged economic damage against Playtech was suffered in the country was not sufficient to hear the case there.Playtech has claimed that Igor Veliks breached confidentiality obligations and misused trade secrets by accessing a Playtech platform that hosted the company's games, including some not yet publicly released....
