Estonia, Italy and Hungary warned for not phasing out fossil-fuel boiler incentives

( November 21, 2025, 11:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission has opened infringement procedures against Estonia, Italy and Hungary for not implementing EU rules requiring an end to public funding for stand-alone fossil-fuel boilers. The measures, under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, were due by Jan. 1, 2025. The commission said the countries failed to show how they would phase out incentives and gave them two months to respond before possible escalation.Statement follows....
