Japan's economy ministry approves Upstage AI model for domestic list

( November 21, 2025, 02:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Upstage AI, a startup based in Seoul, San Francisco and Tokyo, announced Friday it received a Japanese government certification for its Japanese-language LLM co-developed with Karakuri, a Japanese AI company. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry has added the Syn Pro LLM to the Domestic Foundation Model list, which Upstage calls "a key trust indicator" for Japanese organizations adopting generative AI. Statement follows....
