Adobe to buy marketing software maker Semrush for $1.9 billion

( November 19, 2025, 16:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- Mlex Summary: Multinational productivity software creator Adobe — which makes digital tools for artistic, business and publishing purposes — agreed to pay roughly $1.9 billion to acquire Semrush Holdings, a marketing software company that specializes in both artificial intelligence generative engine optimization (GEO) and traditional search engine optimization (SEO). “Brand visibility is being reshaped by generative AI, and brands that don’t embrace this new opportunity risk losing relevance and revenue,” said Anil Chakravarthy, president of Adobe’s Digital Experience Business. “With Semrush, we’re unlocking GEO for marketers as a new growth channel alongside their SEO, driving more visibility, customer engagement and conversions across the ecosystem.”See attached document....
