EU power operators to see new grid connection methods with penalties, leak shows

The text provides guidance for European grid operators and national regulators to streamline grid connection processes by adopting prioritization frameworks, and more transparent grid planning. National benchmarks on connection waiting times should also be established with penalties for grid operators who do not respect them, the commission said. European grid operators will be able to apply different prioritization approaches rather than the first-come first-served principle in managing grid connection lines, said the European Commission on Tuesday in a leaked document....
