Amazon rightly subject to DSA’s strictest obligations, EU court says

( November 19, 2025, 09:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Amazon’s online marketplace does qualify as a “very large online platform” under the EU’s Digital Services Act because it has more than 45 million monthly active users in the bloc, EU judges ruled on Wednesday, upholding the European Commission's 2023 designation decision. The General Court confirmed that the "VLOP" designation means Amazon must comply with the DSA’s toughest transparency, data-access and recommender-system obligations.
