UnitedHealth, Amedisys Tunney Act public comments can be published on US DOJ website, judge rules

( November 13, 2025, 20:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US District Court Judge James K. Bredar said he found "good reason" to excuse the publication of Tunney Act public comments about the US Department of Justice's merger settlement with UnitedHealth Group and Amedisys in the Federal Register. He said the DOJ could publicize a statement in the Federal Register with the location on the DOJ's Antitrust Division website where the comments can be viewed and downloaded. UnitedHealth subsidiary Optum agreed to purchase Amedisys in an all-cash deal in June 2023. In November 2024, the DOJ and Maryland, Illinois, New Jersey and New York sued to block the deal. The DOJ filed a proposed settlement on Aug. 17.See attached file....
