Ikea can block political party from using its trademark, EU legal opinion says

If followed in the final judgment, the ruling would restrict the scope of the ‘due cause’ exemption in EU trademark law.The use of Ikea's trademark by Belgian political party Vlaams Belang wasn't justified by the "due cause" exemption, said a legal opinion by Maciej Szpunar, an advocate general at the EU's highest court, published Thursday....
