China tightens export controls on fentanyl precursors, adds US, Mexico, Canada to list

The move adds the US, Mexico and Canada to the list of countries subject to tighter scrutiny, and requires exporters to obtain licenses for 13 fentanyl precursors, including piperidine derivatives and related compounds used in fentanyl production. The updated lists of “controlled precursor chemicals” and “designated countries and regions” took effect immediately.
