Utah moves to dismiss Snap litigation over state's child safety regulation

( August 18, 2025, 01:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Utah moved to dismiss Snap's suit that alleges the state violated Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and the First Amendment, saying Snap's allegations are not yet ripe for a court to decide. "Snap’s federal lawsuit runs headlong into the 'strong federal policy against federal-court interference with pending state judicial proceedings absent extraordinary circumstances.' That 'strong federal policy' counsels in favor of dismissing this action in favor of the parallel enforcement proceeding in state court," Utah said in moving to dismiss the suit.See attached document....
