CSN, Lusosider-Aços Planos lose appeal of EU dumping duties

( November 12, 2025, 09:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Brazilian steelmaker Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional and Portuguese company Lusosider-Aços Planos have lost their appeals against EU dumping tariffs imposed on them to counter unfair dumping on imports of hot-rolled flat products of iron, non-alloy or other alloy steel from Brazil, Iran and Russia. The tariffs had been maintained for five more years in 2023. In a judgment delivered today, the EU's first-tier court fully rejected the challenge, saying that the European Commission was entitled to take the view that the sales between CSN and Lusosider “were rather to be regarded as sales to related parties operating on the free market.”The ruling is attached.
