Police must consider privacy risks in using body-warn cameras, New Zealand official says

In a speech to the Police Association Annual Conference dated Oct. 16 but released on Monday, Privacy Commissioner Michael Webster said it was incumbent on the police force to identify the lawful basis for collecting personal information used by the technology, with the cameras meeting the test of being an effective solution to the operational needs identified.
