Meta can support EU Commission in joined appeals over data transfers to US

( November 7, 2025, 10:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meta Platforms Ireland has been admitted to intervene in two joined appeals before the EU's top court, supporting the European Commission in a case over alleged unlawful personal data transfers to the United States, according to an order dated Oct. 29. The Court of Justice of the EU found that Meta has a direct and current interest in the outcome, as the rulings could affect the legality of its own data-transfer mechanisms under EU privacy law. The appeals were brought by the commission and German citizen Thomas Bindl, who are challenging different parts of a lower-court ruling over the same data transfers.The order follows in French....
