IP Europe urges EU Parliament not to litigate over withdrawal of SEP law

( November 6, 2025, 20:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Trade association IP Europe, which counts Ericsson, Nokia and Qualcomm among its members, has urged the European Parliament not to litigate over the withdrawal of a planned regulation dealing with standard-essential patents. In a letter to EU Parliament President Roberta Metsola, IP Europe stressed that lawmakers and national governments had ample time to comment on plans to drop the legislation, and none opposed the move. The association is reacting to a proposal by a committee of lawmakers this week that the assembly go to court over the European Commission's ditching of the proposal while it was still under discussion among legislators.See attached letter....
