Epic, Google reach settlement in US antitrust case over app store

( November 4, 2025, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Epic Games and Google notified a US federal judge that they have reached a settlement, saying the deal would resolve Epic’s antitrust claims while making Android “a more vibrant and competitive platform for users and developers.” The companies asked the court to approve modifications to an injunction against Google. Under the proposed modified injunction, for digital transactions in apps downloaded from the Google Play store, Google may not charge a service fee of more than 9% or 20% (depending on the type of transaction and the date on which the app was installed). It would also create a program for alternative app stores to become “registered.” See attached file. ...
