Swiss Enet Energy fined €1m for attempting to manipulate Spanish gas market

( November 4, 2025, 10:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Enet Energy has been fined €1 million by Spain’s energy regulator for attempting to distort wholesale gas prices in eight 2023 trading sessions. In a statement on Tuesday, CNMC said the Swiss-based energy trading company had placed large low-priced sell orders to mislead the market before quickly correcting them. Enet acknowledged responsibility and agreed to make a voluntary payment, thereby securing a 40 percent reduction in the fine, the regulator said. This marks CNMC’s fourth gas price manipulation case since 2018, it said.Press release follows....
