China launches online cleanup ahead of National Games

The effort targets six types of misconduct, including spreading false information about the Games or related public policies, defaming the “one country, two systems” framework and using AI to fabricate event videos or false information about athletes, coaches and referees. Authorities will also curb “online doxxing,” the leaking of personal data and privacy of athletes, coaches and referees and the incitement of online abuse.
