Musk takes US OpenAI feud deep into Texas as California case heats up

OpenAI countered that Musk is the one trying to stifle competition by “waging a campaign of lawfare” against OpenAI. Meanwhile, Musk’s lawsuit against his rival in a California federal court continues to advance. An order issued Friday requires OpenAI cofounder Ilya Suskever to produce the potentially sensitive and mysterious “Brockman memo” that was viewed by the board before CEO Sam Altman was temporarily fired in 2023. Elon Musk opened a new front in his feud with OpenAI earlier this year, suing the company in Texas over its ChatGPT partnership with Apple — another sign Musk is determined to undermine his rival’s ambition to overhaul its corporate structure and reshape the artificial-intelligence industry....
