South Korea seeks relief measures, faster deals in bilateral trade talks during APEC

In talks with Indonesia, the ministry requested relief measures for South Korean electronics companies affected by Indonesia’s revised national standards system. With Thailand, it called for a faster conclusion of negotiations for the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. During discussions with Canada, the ministry raised concerns about Canada’s steel-import quota system and highlighted South Korea’s capability to build submarines for Canada’s submarine-procurement project.
