'Right-sized' digital-platforms rules complement Australian antitrust laws, regulator says

In a speech on Thursday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission Chair Gina Cass-Gottlieb said that a targeted code-based digital platforms regime, which is “right-sized” would allow intervention that is “rigorous where harm is greatest and proportionate to risk.” She said that such a regime would respond quickly to technological and business-model change while supporting pro-competitive innovation through “interoperability and contestability.”The full speech follows:...
