Comcast seeks quick appeal in Viamedia's US antitrust case

( October 27, 2025, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Comcast asked a US federal court to modify an order in Viamedia’s antitrust case to allow the Seventh Circuit to decide whether to immediately consider a controlling question of law that arises under a Supreme Court’s decision. “In denying Comcast’s motion for summary judgment, the order interpreted Amex and its progeny to determine that the antitrust product markets relevant to Viamedia’s tying claim— including the alleged market for interconnect services—are not two-sided transaction platforms. Since Amex, few courts have analyzed two-sided transaction platforms, and even fewer courts have addressed the meaning of ‘simultaneous’ transactions on a two-sided platform or the implications of the existence of other services provided by the platform. Accordingly, the court’s interpretation of Amex is novel,” it argued. See attached file. ...
