Tighter rules on workplace AI needed, European Parliament study says

( October 27, 2025, 11:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Workplace AI and algorithmic management technology is expanding across sectors, with over half of EU workers expected to be affected soon, a study commissioned by the European Parliament's employment committee has said. While adding productivity gains, it heightens workers' stress, surveillance and erosion of autonomy, the study said. It noted gaps in current laws, including the EU's AI Act, and proposed a non-binding recommendation, amendments to existing laws or a dedicated EU law to regulate workplace AI. The study, published on Friday, is part of preparation for an "own-initiative" parliament report on digitalization, AI and algorithmic management.Study attached. ...
