Meta and TikTok failed in DSA duties, EU Commission says in preliminary findings

( October 24, 2025, 09:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: TikTok and Meta Platforms have breached transparency and user-protection obligations under the EU's Digital Services Act, the European Commission has found. Both companies failed to give researchers adequate access to public data, and Meta failed in relation to its Facebook and Instagram services to offer users simple tools to report illegal content or effectively appeal moderation decisions, the regulator said in preliminary findings. The DSA provides for breaches to possibly lead to fines of up to 6 percent of global annual turnover if confirmed, according to a commission press release published on Friday.Press release attached....
