Song owners seek to add 'stream-ripping' DMCA claim to copyright suit against Udio

( October 22, 2025, 23:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: A proposed class of music and sound recording owners led by independent country singer Anthony Justice is seeking to amend a copyright lawsuit against AI music generator Udio, accusing the company of ripping their songs from YouTube and Spotify in violation of anti-circumvention measures in the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act. "These acts not only violated the terms of service of those platforms but also directly enabled Udio to build its training dataset from copyrighted works without authorization," the proposed amended complaint states.  See attached file....
